Whether you’re just picking up the bass for the first time or looking to refine your technique as an experienced player, I offer tailored bass guitar tuition that meets you where you are and helps you get where you want to go.

With over 25 years of teaching experience — including my role as a senior lecturer in Popular Music at a leading UK conservatoire — I’ve worked with hundreds of students across all levels, ages, and styles. My approach combines solid technical foundations with musical creativity, helping students build confidence, develop strong listening skills, and find their own voice on the instrument.

Lessons can cover everything from groove and timing to improvisation, reading, ear training, theory, genre-specific techniques, and live performance skills. I work with each student individually to set goals that are meaningful and motivating — whether that’s preparing for graded exams, auditions, recording work, or simply playing for the joy of it.

I offer lessons in person (West Yorkshire) or online, using high-quality audio and video tools to make remote learning just as effective and engaging.
